Why Rush ZBT?
Social Events and Greek Life
Our social calendar is filled with great events, including house parties, sorority mixers, and elegant formals. Our parties are known as some of the best on campus, with one party being so loud that Governor Doyle actually called it in. Every weekend is a different event! ZBT is also one of the most active fraternities in Greek activities on campus. In the past 3 years alone, we have won both Greek Week and Homecoming twice! ZBT is consistently competitive in these events, strengthening our connection with sororities and the entire Greek community.
Brotherhood
As a medium-sized fraternity of 40-50 brothers, ZBT offers freshmen a chance to meet older brothers and really create the true essence of the idea of brotherhood. From the moment you step into our house, you will notice that every brother is treated as equals, from the youngest members of the fraternity, to the eldest. Each week, we hold Brotherhood Development Events (BDE), which can range from going out to a big dinner as a whole fraternity or just hanging out and watching a football game or playing poker. While some other fraternities boast about their large numbers, we select only those who can commit their time and bring personality to the brotherhood.
No Pledge Process
ZBT is the ONLY fraternity that does not have or promote a pledge process. New brothers are never forced to do anything that any brother wouldn't, and are not hazed by any means. The lack of a pledge process allows freshmen to become leaders as soon as they join the fraternity right from the start of their induction. In fact, freshmen are encouraged to take on leadership roles, with more than half of the most recent class taking an elected leadership role and a spot on the 5 member Executive board reserved for a freshman.
Future Success
Zeebs are known to be big names on campus. In the past four years, we have had a three-time Big Ten athlete of the week, Editor-in-Chief of the largest newspaper at UW, and brothers in highly touted student government positions. Furthermore, ZBT houses some of the smartest students at Wisconsin, having achieved the highest fraternity GPA 5 out of the past 6 semesters and our most recent rush class achieved a combined 3.8 GPA!. In fact, in our entire time being here at UW-Madison, we have always had a GPA in the top 5 of all fraternities. Upon graduation, Zeebs also have instant access to our alumni network, which can help with finding jobs, making connections, and settling into the life in the 'real world'.
